- Good surface hardness and wear resistance
The hardness of the injection mold is usually below 50-60HRC. The surface hardness of the heat-treated mold is high. The mold is subjected to large compressive stress and friction during the work due to the filling and flow of the injection. The accuracy and size of the mold are required to maintain the shape. The stability of precision increases the service life of the mold. The wear resistance of the mold depends on the chemical composition of the steel and the heat treatment hardness. Therefore, strengthening the hardness of the mold can enhance its wear resistance.
- Good machinability
In most injection molds, in addition to EMD processing, cutting and fitter repair are required. In order to increase the service life of the cutting tool and enhance the cutting performance, the injection mold reduces the surface roughness, and the hardness of the steel for the injection mold is appropriate.
- Good thermal stability
The shape of the parts of the injection mold is often complicated, and it is difficult to process after quenching. Therefore, it should be selected to have good thermal stability. When the mold is formed by heat treatment, the linear expansion coefficient is small, the heat treatment deformation is small, and the dimensional difference caused by the temperature difference The rate is small, the metallographic structure and the mold size are stable, and the processing can be reduced or not.
- Good polishing performance
The surface roughness value of the injection molding cavity is required to be less than Ra 0.1 to 0.25, and the optical surface is required to be Ra<0.01 nm. The cavity should be polished to reduce the surface roughness value. Less, the tissue is fine and uniform, and there should be no pitting or orange peel defects during polishing.
